Training and Education
We support people to pursue educational, professional goals that can lead to self-development, employment and economic independence.
Using the care plan framework, support is provided to help people reach their goals regarding training and employment. We have had residents who have completes a Masters, completed Fetac Levels, completed their Junior or Leaving Certificate and attended other training facilities such as the National Learning Network. Residents are also supported to pursue employment opportunities. Employment has included retail, security, childcare and Community Employment Schemes.
The weekly group-work is used as a stepping stone for people who are building up their confidence to enter main stream training or employment.
In Cork we operate a housing project for people who have been in homeless services and are now taking part in accredited education. This provides students with support and safe, secure and affordable housing.
